JIM HIGGINS

I'm the author of two books: Sweet, Wild and Vicious: Listening to Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground (Trouser Press, 2024) and Wisconsin Literary Luminaries: From Laura Ingalls Wilder to Ayad Akhtar (The History Press, 2017).

I write and edit stories about books, the performing arts and other subjects for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; I've reported for the Journal Sentinel and predecessor Milwaukee Sentinel since 1983.

I was part of the Journal Sentinel writing team that won the Association of Food Journalists 2004 award for special projects for a series on obesity. I am also a two-time winner of the Sentinel staff-voted award for humor writing.

I'm a graduate of Marquette University and live in Milwaukee County with my spouse, daughter, son, dog, two cats, and too many books to count.
